The Center for Disease Control & Prevention provides some helpful tips for keeping mice, rats, moles and other rodents out of your home.
- Seal up food and water sources inside your home.
- Keep food sealed in metal or glass containers with tight metal or glass lids. (Note that squirrels and other rodents can chew through thick plastic and plastic lids.)
- Clean up spilled food right away.
- Wash dishes and cooking utensils soon after use.
- Put pet food away after use.
- Keep inside garbage in metal containers with tight lids removing any garbage below you leave for an extended period of time.
